Are those half doors fiberglass?

the underside of that tool box is looking good, can't wait to see it installed.

I see the doors when you click "look at some of our parts on our Jeep" but I don't see them in the product guide. How much were they?

First stage of body work is done on the sides, still have top rail of tub and interior floors to do.

Hey steve, just spitballing here, but I think that box didn't fit just right because it was made for the dimensions of a 2A or 3A body. They may be off an inch or two. If I'm thinking about this correctly, the CJ5's didn't have the Jeep script on the front. I don't think that part matters at all, but that's what made me think of the 2A bodies. Anyone else know for sure?

When I bought the thing, I was told the one with the script was cheaper, same deal like the fenders w/ the side marker light verse no light. Was told it would work. I figured not many people would see the script much less know whether one should be there or not.

 

Back on track now, went backwards on a few things. Put the frame in the garage on jack stands and strapped it down. Will set the tub on the frame, bolt up grill and fenders. Install seats, dash, tail lighting, top, roll bar. Put everything on that needs drilling. Then take it apart and should be ready for painting. If I get burnt out on this will start on diffs which will be a change. Steve

 

Friday after work, took my differential to Madison so that the gear ratio can be changed and rebuilt. Put the tub on the frame and bolted up the fenders and grill. Will take some measurements to see how it sits and if everything looks OK will finish drilling holes in the tub for bolt up.

looks good.but do yourself a favor before painting the outside buy some automotive masking tape. the blue stuff from the hardware store makes a crappy line and will bleed under the edges and if you leave it on too long or get it wet it is a bugger to get off.stinks to spend the money on tape but it saves tons o time in the end...ask me how i know.

 

Back at it, 3 weeks of OT at work. Been fooling with the fenders and hood, trying to match everything up and have good margins/gaps between the fenders, hood and cowl. Happy with the fit of everything at this point, the only issue is where the hood is close to the cowl at the fender, shows up in the second picture. Do not know the fix on this. Filled all the dents in the hood and re-primed everything. Will revisit the body work before painting.

Fixed the front fenders, filled the notch in inner fender.

 

Picked up the rear differential Friday, completely gone though, new bearings and seals, ring and pinion changed, sand blasted and painted. Working on the front now. Cleaning up all the bolts and small parts so they can be painted, very time consuming. About the time I figure I can start putting things back together, I discover I need a part or two which I do not have, another hold up. So I work on something else.

Repainted the lift kit, it has been sitting so long that it was starting to rust, looks good now.

Since the heat wave is gone for now and temperatures are not that bad, it is nice to be back in the garage.

Starting to put things back together.

 

Took a job with a construction company that did out of town work and I did not work on the Jeep for two plus years. Things did not work out with this company, had to move on to another company. Back in town and starting to work on the Jeep.

Starting back on my build, going to start putting everything together and check fit.

Got some more done on the Jeep in the past couple weeks. It has been rather cold here and have not been working out in the garage as much as I would like to. The price of Gas has come down but Kerosene is still expensive.
