Has anyone had any experience with this Kit from Novack? I'm interested in one for my 1971 CJ 5, but they said they no longer support this year with the t14 Transmission.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the bellhousing.

    Thanks,

I put one in with a 225 and a t-18 and it is really close to the exhaust. I called Novak and they told me they did not support this set up for this reason but many people have done it this way with a heat shield, so I put a heat shield in between them and it has worked flawlessly for 3 years.

Great To Hear! I think i'll give it a shot. I thought it might have something to do with the adapter plate for the t-14 being built into the bell housing.

Best to give them a call and ask them why for sure before putting down the money and time spent the t-14 may have different issues then my t-18. The people over at Novak are great guys.

I have one of their older style units in my 66 with a V6 and it works great. I had to add an extra bracket to stiffen the mount, but it appears they have modified it since I bought mine. I would recommend it.

I used this kit on my 71, but I swapped in an SM465 at the same time using the smaller bellhousing. I had to grind a little bit on one of the BH ribs but that was it.

I used it on mine with the SM465 and AA Bell - just a little mod on bell made it work fine.
