    Hi everyone,

I dont know if this is a silly question or not, but does anyone know of a proper grommet that will seal up the hand brake line at the firewall?

Also, does anyone have a suggestion for a boot or seal for a single stick transfer case? I have seen some seals from M151 Mutts that look like they may work, but I am curious about options.

    Cheers gents!

For all of my firewall penetrations (e-brake cable, wires, etc.) I used grommets similar to style 1 as shown in McMaster-Carr catalog.

Grommets can also be found in most hardware and/or auto parts stores.

I had my wife sew a new boot for the shifter, an it looked so good she did one for the transfer case shifter. They are made from a old leather welding vest i had..

That's an awesome idea. How well have they sealed up? Any water come up through them at all?

You wouldn't happen to have a photo of that would you?

As a temporary measure three years ago I used silicone on the hand brake and two pieces of black duct tape on the single stick.

    grunt,

i like the shifter retention you have. i had to do similar on the trail when body was making contact from articulation an popping out and found out then there was no mount on the transfer case and the mount on the trans was shot
