Green Hell...the Never Ending Project

    I have a cs144, so plenty of power, with all on, fan, heater, all led light, led light, headlight, still have a 14v at idle and 14.5 when i barely touch the gaz pedal :)

    I have a 4 amp draw, there are a 16 watt each so no big deal.

    No update since some time now.

    Just install the Oem antenna, like to listen fo Fm radio.

    Also, found out couple a weeks ago that i had some play un the u-joint on the steering shaft, there was some loose on the extensible part of the shaft. Tired to make new thing with old one so time for a brand new borgeson steering shaft. I needed some custom part because i'm running a scout II sterring box and the oem steering collum.

    SO i order the right u joint for the collum and the scout 2. Also bought a 24" extensible collum that can be cut at a minimum of 10" lenght.

    I Cut of about 8" of the collum, did some road test and the result is amazing, all the steering loose gone away and now i got a precise steering. I hardly recommend their product, high quality component :)

    It's bare metal so you need to paint it if you dont want a rusty look after some time. I did use some high-temp spray paint because is near hhte exhaust headers.

    As there always something to do, this week-end those seat appeared on facebook. They came from an Celica GT, all leather and they has been modified to be use with jeep tj seat braket and slide.

    For a 100$ deal it's going to be a good upgrade for the jeep. My currect seat need heavy repair and they aren't Oem so i don't mind too much about replacing them, the celica will offer better seating confort and better side to keep occupant in the seat :)

    Just finish rebuilting my front axle after a big wheeling season, nothing was broke, but everything what about to end his life.

    So i replace all wheel bearing, gear and pignon bearing, wheel seal, axle seal.

    i know that is a usual job but i wanted to share to tool i fab to take off the seal near the carrier bearing.

    What i use is a 5/8" threaded rob by 3 foot long, some washer that has the right diameter.

    Just put it againts the seal, couple of hammer strike and seal is off. You can also use it as a scrapper so you can take all the dirt inside the tube.

    For reinstall pretty easy too, just need a wilder washer and you turn the nut until seal are at their right place.

    So total cost for this custom tool is about 10$. The right tool for this job is around 125-150$ so it's pretty cheap my way and it work as a charm :)

    Nice work... I've seen some You Tube vids using that idea, very cost effective.

    I made the same tool several years ago. I made the mistake of trying to install both seals at once and got one in cockeyed. Worked great when installing one at a time though.

    This weed-end project.

    Bought a plow couple of week's ago, with the snow getting here it was time for fabrication :)

    It's not finished yet, i want to put some reinforcement over the tubing welding point.

    Still some modification to do with the plow.

    How much do you need to grind into the C knuckle?

    I would say almost 1/2 inch.

    Best way to do it i to use a good quality grinding wheel, and use 4-5, when new they have square edge that make is easier to work.

    Hardest thing is to look for a small crack when you grind. When you see the small crack you know that you have grind it enought.

    Be real careful with the plow angles there. I used to build plow mounts on our jeeps (NW Colorado) and you will tear/bend stuff unless you are pushing along the line to the frame. Even with your front support, I can see it tearing and pushing back as that is where all the force goes pushing snow. Most of my plow mounts had a push line that went to the frame behind the spring mount (mid jeep).

    I copy that, good point you have here. I didn't have any reference when i built the support. My first idea was to bring the support to the rear axle, so it would be all paralell to the frame.

    If i see thing going bad i will have to make some mod

    But for now the use for the plow is for finition only (this year), i give the contract of the snow removal to neigbourd with a tractor with a snowblower

    Also forgot to tell that plow is under modification at my friend metal shop. I'm putting side to the plow with some slide under it to prevent the plow to kick down.

    So i realy love my plow, work as a charm.

    Warloch i did need to reinforce the attachement but now it's almost perfert.

    Only thing i will need to do is to put side on it.

    That looks a bit more professional than what I used to install my inner seals - which was a greased broom handle and a socket. My wife had to hold the broom handle square to the socket and the seal, while I strategically whacked the other end of the handle outside the tube with a BFH. I wish I had a picture, but I think all our hands were being used at the time. ;)

    SO i bought these two toyota celica leather seat from a local guy for a 100$ bargin.


    Starter with the driver one yesterday, took me around 6 hours to do a clean job.

    The Po that did install the previous seat did a very poor job. There wasn't any ajustment. Now i can move the whole seat back and forth, the back of it can now tilt and i have ajustment on the bottom seat. Now need to start working on passenger.

    And i can tilt it way more than the one i had before, you can see the diffence with the passenger side that is lock into this position
