IMG_2818.JPG IMG_2817.JPG Can anyone help me identify a couple of features on my dash panel? See the attached photos. What are these two different holes supposed to be used for?

  2. What's on the backside of the snapped one? Heater switch? Vent cable?

Snapped one should be the 4 way flasher switch. Not sure about the other one.

This might help. From a 71 owners manual. I am thinking that the small hole with the notch might be what they are calling the brake warning light.

I agree with Wyomike on the brake warning light. I used a magnifying glass on my manual. It says applicable models only.

On my 69, that hole is where the window washer pump goes.

Hmmm, on yours is there a hole below that? The dash above shows something that looks like it could be a little pump plunger?

Apparently nothing is set in stone with Jeeps. ;) My manual clearly shows an indicator light and the brake warning light caption has a line directly to it. As I mentioned though I couldn't determine that without a magnifying glass.

Thank you all for your replies. The diagram from the 71 owner's manual seems to fit my dash correctly. Thanks again!

Yeah, window washer pump. I didn't know these primitive Jeeps had those.

    Isn't that considered a later-20th century luxury?

I want to see the "ruby red" brake warning light too.

My 70 (late '69) had that... it was a bag hanging on the fender. One of those things I regret tossing. Like the side steps and hood reflectors.

It couldn't have been too advanced for the time... my '64 Ford F-350 dump truck has a similar bag.

My father, had a new 1966 Bronco, equipped with a manually operated foot pump windshield washer! It was the first windshield washer I'd ever seen!

That hole is for the window washer pump. I removed it from the fairly unmolested steves 71 project.
