Gas Tank Strap

62 cj5. Anybody have pictures of the tank strap locations? I googled it...no luck

 

I am newbie---but is that pic really a '62 CJ5?

 

You guys must have a better internet than I do. I Googled 62 Jeep CJ5 gas tank strap installation CJ5 under seat gas tank strap installation CJ5 gas tank, all kinds of stuff and nothing came up.

 

I figured it was an example. I am getting ready to drill mounting holes in new tub "front to rear" and this post gave me pause.
I know---who I am to question Focker!!!!

 

Mine is a 70 but I think it's the same

I think from the factory they had wood blocks under the tank?

 

Rugged ridge/comic Ada. All that came with it, so nothing to go off. The strap fastens to what at the back?

Ok if Ada part # 12025.24....im just not seeing how this will work for me.

Unfortunately his strap looks correct, mine looks wrong.

 

That is the way my 65 was.

 

You strap looks like the one in post 2.

 

Focker, your second picture is still a flat fender, though the CJ5 is similar. Someone needs to get a measurement for Jeepstar from the rocker panel over to the hole location. Same with the rear mount measured off the side of the wheelhouse.
