Would it be possible to convert a Ramsey DC-200 winch from electric to PTO driven? I have only been able to find one thread on rebuilding one. I can't tell if the gear box for the electric motor is sealed from the worm gear drive box.

It looks like a Ramsey model 50 pto winch with a electric gear box on it.

I have one of those winches and plan on probably doing the same thing- removing the motor and gearbox and converting to PTO.
The drum on mine is 8.5" wide, vs the usual 11.5".
The gearbox effectively routes the turning motion of the motor 180 degrees and into the worm gear of the winch. The worm gear is sealed due to 90wt oil used as lube, so I believe it's just a case of pulling the motor/gearbox off. My set up means I'll have to rearrange/reverse the winch ends to get the worm gear on the drivers side.
I'd post pics but don't plan on getting around to this for a couple months

Ok is the input for the worm gear 3/4 just like the PTO driven models?

I think so, but won't know for sure until I pull it apart
