I am looking for info and components from a Deluxe Meyer hard top, to fabricate a "Super Cab" for a
CJ-6 from a 1/2 cab, let me know if you know of someone who did this in the past, or knows what meyer components would best accomplish this. Want a 9" or 12" deeper 1/2 cab depending on Roll bar type selected.
    Posted similar on Classified area.
I'm a bigger boy and need more room between me and the steering wheel.

I made a full hard top for my 2a in 1998. I had a half cab i bought off a guy in the desert of Az and fond a full top, minus everything else in Tumwater Wa. I cut the front off teh cj5 top and had it welded to the back if the half top and had a full hard top. Same Koenig manufacturer, so it looked factory.

I would think you take a standard CJ5 top and knock the side windows out. Then shorten the sides and top to the dimensions you need. Weld it back together. Cut a new piece of side glass and then fill in below the rear door.
All ya gotta do is .....

I would not destroy a desirable half-cab to make a longer cab for a CJ-6. I have most of a Meyer full cab for a CJ-6 that you can have for free if you haul it away. Unfortunately for you, it's on the wrong coast.

Why not cut down a full CJ-5 top? Seems like those are rather plentiful.

Hey, if he doesn't want that CJ6 top, I would be really happy to bring it to a new home in PA.

You realize it's in Massachusetts? Send me a PM if you are serious. Don't get too worked up until I describe it to you.

PM sent, I'd be happy to have it but if someone else needs it, that's cool too, I just don't want to see it rot away.

I laugh because I’ve driven just as far for free stuff and have been horribly disappointed.

Nice to know others are interested in the 6ers and top options. I'm going to see if anyone has a 5er top on the classified forum to cut down. Hope to have a Super cab version and a full size cab in the future.

Looking forward to the group here to helping to return my 6er to original and keeping her running.
More on my 1962 CJ5 farm jeep acquisition later.
Also need info on a 1969 CJ5 Camper, I have a camper unit subframe with axle.

I have a really nice meyers6 top. plan was to cut it up but it's so nice
then I found a konig top for a 5 that I like the lines of that one I will use that top to cut down .I was looking to take the top to the back of the 6 section and have the bed outside .that konig has the most hideous looking doors and hardwear …...

I find the Koenig Doors hard to look at as well, but like the back slope.
Let me know if the 6er Meyer top is available.

I would not cut up a 6er top, but like you think blending some features would be nice.
I like the swing out side panels I've seen, I think from a Kelly or ?.
I think a super cab with a 9-12" swing out panel (and side window maybe) would improve the narrow access for bigger fellas.
At 270 and 6'1", I find I need a little more room that some folks.

I know, that some will say that's why the CJ7 has a different door opening shape and wheelbase.
I tried driving my daughters TJ a time or two, and it didn't fit me either. I like the CJ8 with the 1/2 cab, but too small as well.
I'm too Old School in my Jeep thinking, and would rather spend my time and limited talents on a top modification to an Ole 6er.

Found a existing supercab, will check it out and post more when I have a chance to get it home and dissect it.

Owner says it has no back, so it may be just the CJ-6 side panels and a sawed off roof.
Does come with a set of doors and mounting brackets.
Also purchased a separate complete cj5 Meyer top.

Went to Lolo Montana last week and picked up a complete CJ5 meyer top and the cut up CJ6 top pictured above. The side panels are just what I needed to extend the 1/2 cab, and the sawn top can be sectioned into the 1/2 cab roof to make it into the supercab#
