Installed a Painless Performance headlight conversion harness. This harness provides direct power to the headlights through two relays as oppose to running the power through the headlight switch. They claim your headlight will be brighter but honestly I couldn’t tell the difference just parked in the garage. Maybe out on the road at night I’ll see some improvement.

It was expensive $150.00 through Amazon!
There are several different harness offered on Amazon some as inexpensive as $18.00 but only Painless offers water resistant relays.
I’ve have good success with their products in the past.

This missing feature has been bothering me for awhile . Installed a lamp socket & wired to headlight switch today.

I replaced the ignition coil in my HEI distributor cap. While this sounds like a simple and straight forward fix, the trouble shooting leading up to it was a PITA! After flat-towing the CJ to an off-road playground, I was greeted with a no-spark condition. It was a much colder than anticipated weekend, so we just took the truck on a few sight-seeing drives. I wasn’t about to start trouble shooting in the motel parking lot, even though I carry many extra parts.

After returning home, I checked primary & secondary resistance on the coil windings; all was good. I checked the pick up coil resistance; it was good. I had no way to check the module so I replaced it; NO luck.

I started to dig deeper on the web and this site! Folker has an excellent thread on his trouble with a similar odd-fire distributor. I re-checked continuity on EVERY wire and connection in my distributor. Everything checked good! This was so frustrating. One site indicated that even if the coil primary & secondary windings check OK, there could still be an internal short in the coil.

I finally replaced the ignition coil and presto, it ran great! I used a Summit MSD unit, and I feel it works better than the stock unit did. I will carry an extra one of these from now on!

    BTW Fellah's,
Does that gap ( 1/4" ) look about right to you ? The instructions refer to re-using the side thrust washers ? I did, but they looked like shims to me ?

Been working on the trailer, gettin ready for my SoCal trip. I shortened the rear leg stabilizers, added wiring for 3 12V sockets and added a rear trailer hitch for the cargo carrier.

It looks right from what I recall, I'm probably going to open mine up this weekend so I'll look. It needs a little gap so it can ratchet when it finally breaks free. BTW, it's alarming the first time or 11 you hear that thing pop when it unlocks o_O

I've been futzing with the seats. I like the height but the lay back is a little much, that's as far forward as they get. Think I'm going to raise the rear about an inch. Need to sort this out before bending up pricey Dom.

I feel for you. I dread setting the seats. One wrong decision and it’s something you are reminded of every time you get in.

    No pressure though. :D

Rebuilt my Holley 1940 carb, replaced the air & fuel filters... I think this is the first time in over a decade that she has breathed fresh air and gotten a clean supply of gas in to the carb. I'm surprised how much the little things do so much good... now just need to figure out why she has a little bit of a hesitation at low rpms...
