Some of you may be familiar with my Jeep trailer that I have been using for several years. I don't know the year, but it's a Sears Roebuck trailer that I modified pretty heavily into a trailer for the Jeep. It's not a common trailer and I have yet to see a second one.

Fast forward to today: I found a second one. This one is 100% factory original with the exception of some LED lights and the top rack. I'm pretty excited.

I have one in my collection. Yet to use it.

    What mods do you suggest?

The biggest thing that helps these trailers behind our Jeeps is to buy a long piece of receiver hitch stock and lengthen the tongue so that the Jeep's wheelbase is the same as the distance between the rear wheel and the trailer wheel. Other than that, you can just slap an off-the-shelf trailer suspension with a spring-over setup and you're set to put Jeep wheels on it.

    "Half-ton???"

I would be amazed. Probably like the infamous Sears horsepower ratings on their power tools.

Don't see many "one wheel" trailers around anymore. I've only ever seen one in action, and it is in my junk pile.

I just did the math, and based on current prices there’s nearly $100 of 2x4s on the trailer. So I basically got the trailer for free. Lol.

When I was a teen my brother had one of those just like that. Only it had a top lid. We used it to haul our camping supplies behind his 53 model 3B. Wore the tires out on it twice.

That one-wheel trailer is ridiculous... I would love to build one up to go behind the Jeep. It would probably do a good job of deterring tailgaters.

Best I can figure, it is for people with extra luggage who don't know how to back up with a conventional trailer. Served about the same as the receiver racks that weekenders carry their beach toys on these days.

50 cents a pound. You pick up.

To be honest it's been years since I laid eyes on it.

My parents owned a one-wheel trailer for a while. They used it for camping. You understand that the front of the trailer hinges up and down on the hitch, and the wheel swivels to go around corners?

Their trailer had a frame and a covered plywood body. Worked well, if you remember to release the wheel pivot before you drive away. The wheel locked in place so you could roll the trailer around like a wheelbarrow when not attached to the car. As I recall, it had no lights, relying on the visibility of the tow car lights. Long ago ... maybe it had reflectors.
