As long as it has the original axle gearing, it shouldn't have any issues at all doing 60mph with the 302.

Despite the heat and humidity, I got some of this Bronco apart~!

The seats, no pic here, but are basically just early mustang seats and I'm very familiar with those in re-upholstering thanks to the kits offered.

There's some metal over the rotted floor boards~ yeah, can't wait to remove that!

I was kind of excited to remove the windshield frame(removed glass already), but found the windshield frame is kind of a non-removable item. The piano hinge is spot welded on both mating surfaces. I soaked it with pb blaster over and over and the hinge is working now. Only way to remove the windshield frame is to cut the spot welds on the piano hinge and brutally destroy it. Yes there is some rust through in places on the WSF(windshield frame), but I believe it's repairable and I'll see what it's like after sandblasting. If I can save it, that would save 400-500 bucks!

Already looking at air conditioning, most are just AC alone and the vehicle would still rely on its existing factory heater, I want all new stuff and this kit in this link seems to be what I would like;)

1972 Ford Bronco Air Conditioning Kit | 72 Ford Bronco AC

The dash is so busy with push pull levers n buttons~ don't know what I'll keep, but going with Aftermarket air probably can eliminate some of those unless aftermarket air utilizes some of them.

I'm thinking maybe by next week to have the tub off and figure out if my rotisserie will work on this after adapting the brackets and supports for it. It's a pretty good size "tub".

Time to wash the grime off~

Just saw this today, obviously a different vehicle but the engineering/detailing seems very good.

Looks like they have a bronco kit-

I'm at a point to where I can move the Bronco project to my air conditioned part of the garage, however, I pressure washed the entire thing again, just want to get as much dirt off as possible. I have my brothers jeep tires here and they came in handy to roll it~ they look kind of funny but got the job done;) I should be much more comfortable over the next few weeks of working on this Bronco;)

Removed radiator, power steering, well, let's just say all the stuff to be able to separate the tub from the frame. I'm leaving the front fenders on as they'll be ok coming off with the rest of the body. The front fenders and grill are pretty messed up as far as getting to the bolts. I could really use one of those extended cutoff tools:(

It was much more pleasant working in the AC'd shop, but even the AC is having a difficult time keeping the garage as cool as I'd like, but 75 is better than 99 + I'll give a body test lift in the morning, but I'm unsure if the tub will clear the frame. you know, like pick the tub up, then roll the frame out from underneath it. If it doesn't I may have to put it back in the tall area to accomplish the separation. One way or the other;)

My best friend bought a new Bronco in 1974. The factory tires were about the same size, but were probably 15 inch wheels. It looked kind of funny too. But it sure drove good as I recall.

I had put all these pics then said my time expired and lost what I wrote! grrr, However, getting the tub off wasn't too bad and now much easier to examine the frame and body.

Now how to put this thing on a rotisserie~ after I remove the front fenders anyway.

The frame horns someone welded something else on which is kind of depressing me~ I'd hate to buy a new frame even though they're "reasonably" priced. but I'll see what I can do~ I'm going to be spending some quality time taking the frame apart soon.

I'd think in a few days the frame should be down the bare bones

I was lacking two bolts to mount the 302 to the engine stand, so that'll be a couple days before I can move it out of the way. The fella I bought it from said the engine was "fresh", I didn't believe him when he said it and still don't. I'm going to have it overhauled just the same.

I've sweated enough for today~ I'll get back to it tomorrow;)

This is what is in the engine listed in my previous post~ What does all the information convey? Says has 19k miles on it. you don't have to explain it techically, just is that it's ok and won't sound like a fuel dragster! ;)

The only real "negative" I see might be the Accu-drive cam gear. On the plus side no chain to stretch but you'll hear that gear noise. It will whine. Some like that but personally I don't. Otherwise the cam that is in it sounds about like what I would choose for an old Bronco (much better than your second option anyway:). Before you have it overhauled, I would pull a compression check and take a look through the spark plug holes to see if any crosshatch is visible. Then pull the pan and valve covers to see how things look. No reason to spend a bunch of money you don't have to. You can always double check the installed cam specs with a dial indicator on the push-rod... remove the rocker and use a rag or something to stop the push-rod from flopping from side to side. It is a little precarious but if your patient it will work fine. Just remember the advertised lift is at the valve so you will have to look up the cam card if you don't already have it (or do the math) and see what the lobes themselves are supposed to measure.

If the compression is strong and even, everything looks good under the covers, and the cam is checks out. I would probably reseal it and run it.

Thank you!!!!! ;) Actually, I was just going to meticulously clean the engine and install, but it will be on a engine stand for a while, but perhaps I could replace the Accu-drive cam gear with a regular timing chain/gears? Not sure how to do a compression test without it being connected to the transmission housing, but I can take the word of the seller. He's pretty much just upgrading everything from engine, trans, suspension, everything, of which I'm buying a lot of it;)

Sounds like it's time to build a quick start stand.:bananatool: You could buy one, but building is always so much more fun (and cheaper). If you're just using it to check compression it doesn't even need any provision for cooling.

Since I'm buying a lot of the sellers parts, he's going to do a better deal, we shall see. I was seeking a C4 automatic, but he has all the other parts, so it's going to be a great deal for me if all goes well.

I was talking to the seller about his third member in the rear axle, he's considering selling it to me as he's upgrading his as well. He has other stuff, but Ill see when we get there next week;)

    $250 Dual Exhaust with Flowmasters
$100 Hedman Long Tube Headers (fit 302w/ C4)
$150 Bronco Steering System with Rancho stabilizer
$100 Stock Radius Arms - Pair I don't know what these are.

$150 Power Brake Booster, Master Cycl, & Bracket
$350 2" Suspension Lift with 2x Coils, 2x Leafs, Track Bar, 8xShocks, 2xTower brackets, U bolts, c Bushings, poly body bushings.

$200 - Stainless Steel Shifter mount
    $1200 - C4 Tranny w/mild shift kit & D20 (Shifted great!)
$400 - D30 Axle Assembly with DISC brakes, Mile Marker Hubs, SS brake Lines, Prop Valve and misc hard lines' I was going to upgrade my axle to disc brakes, but this axle has what I need and is in much better shape
$300 Holley Truck Avenger - Like New around 500 miles - Used briefly, then upgraded to a 670.
$1000 - 302 Roller Engine (was discussed in previous post)

He also has these tires/wheels that I'm going to buy 1200 with a spare:
