Would I have had dark navy blue seat belts from the factory in my 1966 CJ5A tuxedo park? Sharon's Web is going to restore mine and they are asking if I want to go with black or dark blue.

The trim tag was long gone on my Jeep, and I painted it PR#2 and had the seats done in black vinyl.

The belts that I have (can't find a pic right this moment)with Chrome Jeep buckles seem to be light blue fabric.

Mine are black. I believe the colour matched the colour of the seating from looking at many pics over the years.

My first Tux a '66 was Prairie Gold (yellow) with black seats and a white top. I know it was all original with the exception of the bumpers. I have the original seat belts and they are black. Made by Alofs Life Gard...

The OEM seat belts in my '67 (prairie gold with black seats) were likewise black.

Thanks guys. I guess these are just really really faded.

Are you able to peek inside of the loops, and see the (potentially less or un-faded) color?

    To muddy the water more...

This seat belt is from my current '66 Tux which is white. The Jeep has bench seats that are whitish but may not be original. I believe the seat belts are original...

Bought these from a member a few years ago. No date or anything on them...

I'm sure Donny, Resident Tux Expert, will chime in...

My white '66 Tuxedo has red seats and red seat belts. They are original.

I'm wondering if those blue seat belts might have come from a somewhat later Jeep vehicle. To the best of my knowledge, torx-head bolts like the ones on that set weren't in use in Jeeps until sometime during the 1970's.

Project is dormant and had been for years but I can probably take some pics of the seats. Maybe the belts if I can get to them.

My ‘64 (titled as ‘65) Tux has original medium gray Alofs belts. The webbing is a coarse weave as opposed to the fine/smooth weave of those posted above. The chrome buckles are plain, no “Jeep” embossing.
I have a ‘65 Tux (12/‘64) that has the same gray coarse weave belts.
I believe the color keyed (and black) belts appeared with the introduction of the Dauntless V6 for the ‘66 model year, also when the seats were changed to foam cushions. These later belts also have “Jeep” embossing on the buckles.

The "60" part of the 60/40 front seats. It's all I could get to. Seat belts are somewhere buried in the tub in a box.

Dave, that looks like its a coil spring seat used through the ‘65 model year with the F134/column shift. Is this seat out of a V6 Tux?

1966 V6 CJ5A. Got the matching wheelhouse cushions too but they are pretty flat. I gotta get back on this thing. Probably have to go over everything I did it before. Time and money are not on my side.
