Very original ‘56 CJ5…I’m torn between patching the radio and speaker holes that were cut into my dash vs. finding an un-molested “take off” dash…

…anyone have good/ complete original dash panel for sale at a reasonable price?

I have the glove box door and original cardboard/pressboard glove box. Just interested in the steel panel in good shape w/out any extra holes…

Not interested in a repro or aftermarket if I go the replacement route.

Pic is what I’ve got (speaker covers come off - the holes are about 4 in in diameter).

I’m not a welder or body work guy but have some places that could do the work should I keep mine.

Wow, real floors! I spy a heater like my '56 originally had, along with the rheostat knob.
Looks like it still has the script tag on it too.

Yes - not the standard Harrison heater that you see on a lot of flat fenders - it does have the Willys script on it. Floors are all original and solid. In fact, the only rust through is on the rear taillight panels where the body mount brackets trapped mud and moisture when she was living on a Missouri farm. Odometer reads 15,xxx and I think it's accurate.

Not that hard to patch those cutouts, it is all flat metal, and can be patched where nobody would ever know.

What is your final goal for this Jeep? Keep the patina, restore, resto-mod, or? Maybe just for better looks. A sheet metal shop could bend one up or you could skin it.
There is a company that reproduces these but it is bucks.

I have one. 100 dollars and it will be close to that to ship I sent one to someone a month ago and it was 89 dollars to ship to Illinois.

Keeping the patina and as close to stock as possible without going into a true restoration. May patch the two rust spots when I deal with the dash. Re-wired the 6v system a couple years ago and she runs really well…stops too:). Going to replace the exhaust and springs/shocks (all going to be stock) when funds allow.

Thanks for the heads up. Can you message me some pics? I’m probably going to have it patched locally but haven’t priced that yet and would love to see an alternative as it might be better to get yours sent my way.

Can you share a link to their site? When I google "jeep peeps" I find a bunch of merch and social media sites, but nothing that resembles a parts house. Would like to check them out...
