What's everyone running for wheels these days? I need new ones. Looked at new steelies, but they are insane what they are asking for them.

Would now be a good time to find 16" wheels vs 15?

    Tires too....

on the 5 i run the stock 15s steel wheels. but i would love to find a set of 16s for it.
I guess it depends on what size tire/look/need you are going for
Tire wise the 5 has older wranglers
the 2 has 16" good year extra traction. apparently good year made them into the 2000s
once again depends on what you are going for.
i have ran Yokahoma Geolanders on the 2 before, great tire and very well priced
i run Open Country M/S on the Defender and Dodge 2500. good tire last a long time a little bit more pricey

235 75R15 is still a very popular tire size, for both vintage Jeeps and cars.
(I wanted to stay stock how my Tux came, so I kept with the original 15 x 5.5” steel rims)

    This is a choice

I went 225/75r15 for mine because I am running early 60s 4.5" wheels. Toyo Open Country AT3. In retrospect I think 235 would have been a better choice and looked better but I was concerned about trying that with such a narrow wheel.

I have 235/75r15's on flea market 15X7 mags, works good on my F134 with 3:73 axels.

I had 15" made by early wheel company a while back with custom backspacing and they were about the same price as other vendors (although uncoated).
I wish I had them made in 16 or 17" to fit more tire options or poach all the take-offs from modern jeeps that flood facebook. Plus opens up more disk brake options.

9" drums would look and feel like nothing at all.
This is by far the best option for flooded roads. One must accept venmo payments for ferry services.

225/75r16 on 16*4.5 wheels. I think they look better than the 225/75r15. No issues with hitting the leaf springs in turns.

    I love those cream wheels!
I'm running the same size but rattlecanned black.

For tires, Kumho RoadVenture AT51. They're pretty quiet on road and have decent tread.
