I'm installing a Dauntless V6 in my 57 Willys pickup and am ready to hook the stock heater back up. There are 3, what looks like heater hose, connections on the engine. One at the right rear of the manifold, one at the water pump and another just behind the thermostat. Which is the outlet that goes to the heater? I stuck the temp gauge sender in the one behind the thermostat. Thanks

On my ‘69 cj5 the outlet to the heater is the port on the right rear of the intake and it returns to the nipple on the water pump inlet ( where bottom hose connects to water pump). The port behind the t-stat has temp sensor. I can’t guarantee that’s the way it came from the factory but wiring’s stock so doesn’t look like temp sensor location has changed. Works fine.

This. 1 side to the intake manifold (doesn't matter which port) and the other side to the water pump.
