Question About Throttle Pedal.

I was wondering if anyone has this problem, my right leg cramps up trying to control the throttle. I'm 5'8" so not too tall, but feels like I have to lift my heel off the floor because my foot doesn't bend back enough if my heel is on the floor. My seats are from a 1990 Isuzu pick up and I installed them at the same height as the originals. My pedal is as close to the floor as I could get it and still have full throttle.
I was wondering if anyone has installed a new gas pedal or modified theirs for more comfort?

I like that idea for the trail but, it got me thinking about a heel rest. I put my heel on a 2x4 and it straightened my leg enough that my foot could flex. I think I could build something to cradle my heel and make it adjustable. Thanks

So just wear high heels. :D

I'll see what my wife has. Seriously I'm thinking a heel rest in front of the accelerator pedal that would raise my leg up and closer to the pedal. I was thinking of a hinged pedal but my leg is still bent at the same angle.

The hinged pedal is worlds better than the hanging pedal, at least on the early CJ5s it is.

This is very true. With the hinged pedal, you can have your foot almost flat on the floor and operate the throttle with just your toes.

I had the same issue in my 72. This works if you have the high mount pedal. I shortened the pedal bar 2”, drilled a new pivot hole and re attached the pedal. I re bent the bar so the pedal stopped at full throttle just shy of the floor. This moved the pedal up the fire wall and away, giving me more room so my ankle isn’t bent so sharp. This was much more comfortable. The heel rest also helps.

Thanks, I need to go out and look at my options. Anything that would help straighten my leg a little more.
