As longtime Locksmith here, get rid of any graphite. With Natures elements thrown in.......it'll will typically turn into an abrasive type paste. Silicone or Tri-Flow also is very safe for electrical connections. Just Say'n.

    Tri-FLow is conductive.
While it is something that I have used in my door lock, I would never spray it into my ignition key switch.

Tri-FLow is conductive. ? I've read on the spec sheet that because it contains P.T.F.E. it's a particularly good electrical insulator ? AnyHoo, Please forget graphite everyone. It's really a thing of the past with much better lubricant & weatherproof technology available.
