I used Bizal's acrylic urethane OD. What are you using?

I'm using Gillespie 24087, semi gloss OD. From Pete DeBella's in NY.

A penguin takes his car to the shop to have the mechanic check it out. While waiting, he got an ice cream across the street but got some on his beak. When the penguin get's back, the mechanic say's it looks like you blew a seal. No the penguin said, it's just a little ice cream.....

As a professional Scuba Instructor I often had conversations along these lines...

"My brother was a Navy Seal!"

"Really. Can he balance a ball on his nose?"

(No disrespect to actual UDT-type Seals. But there are many imposters.)

As promised, some 'action' pics of the relining of the brake shoes...
You can feel when the striker bottoms out on the anvil. I used an awl to help center the linings with the shoe. This made lining up the rivets easier.
All set, easy operation but a first for me. The rivets are also made in the USA. I never need to buy shoes again...

I have forgotten, where did the lining, rivets and rivet tool come from?
    You've got me thinking...dangit.

You are making me think of the time I re-lined the front disc brake on my first Harley. When I hit the brakes hard, I saw the two new pads shoot straight out into the road in front of me.

Front brakes are loaded. I reused the original Bendix shoes since they were in fine shape.

And more painting today. Not my favorite but must be done. Tables full of parts!!

A real Navy SEAL will be the opposite of a vegan, they are not going to make sure you know.
We had a Vietnam 2 tour vet in our regular high power matches. It wasn’t until 2 years had passed until one of the other shooters and I were talking about him. Other shooter; “isn’t he the nicest dude? You’d never know he was a 2 tour SEAL in SEA”

I've worked with Tip of the Spear people. They are quiet and humble. The braggarts are usually poseurs.

    Different strokes.
    Painting is my favorite part.

The frame is all painted. The weather was working in my favor for a change.

It took hardly any time in comparison to all of the scraping and wire wheeling.

    Looks new!
Also painted the tranny/transfer. I now have the brakes installed. I'll upload pics later.

    Bravo!(y)

I'm wondering if you're going to sand off the paint on the outside of your drum, where the brake shoes rides?

If my Jeep was that pretty, I'd have to get another one to drive around.

Whoa Shaun, she's a beauty! We're a bit away from trying it out on the project, but we can test it on my 54. What do you say??
