Building a 61 Willy's Wagon Rockcrawler

    Another big day for me.

    got the high steer arms and kingpin rebuilds completed and the hubs and brakes back together.

    then I recieved my beadlocks and managed to get two wheels completed before I ran out of energy.

    Looks GREAT, but I gotta know: did the ceiling height of your garage determine the amount of lift? ;-)

    heh heh

    with the spring over i worked hard to keep it as low as possible....even then it almost hits the door!!!

    glad I have roller wheels to get it in and out :beer:

    Lookin better and better every day. Where did you get those high steer arms, they look great.

    got the high steer arms from Poison spyder customs.

    Two things,

    1. Doh!!!!!! I knew that.

    2. So I am guessing we can expect to see finished pics of this rig by the end of the day today, right?:) :)

    not that I know of. Most of my ideas for this build come from my own personal experiences, and reading alot on colorado4x4.org , pirate4x4.com , coloradok5.com , and needing to build this thing as stout as possible given my propensity to beat the crap out of my rig. :beer:

    The Atlas Fairy stopped by my house today. OOOOOOOOhhhhhh.....thats a very bling pice of machinery. I hope to put it in on Sunday!!!!

    my over-all low gear will be 128:1

    okay, i finally was able to carve some time out of my now busy schedule to continue this build. its getting close and I am actually getting excited.

    behold the Atlas II 4.3:1 Transfer case! :flag: :beer:

    input shaft is cut per directions....used a cut-off wheel. the sawzall was ineffective.

    the input shaft is supposed to be flush, but there is a max 1/4 inch tolarance. mine was 1/8 inch stickout after cutting off threaded part.

    unfortunately the money tree never took root. my insurance company, however, took care of me when i rolled my TJ and totalled it :)
