HEI conversion

    Finally got my engine back from the machine shop and would like to go to HEI while I have it all torn down. What will I need to change my V6 225 over to HEI???? Details please............:beer: :v6:

    all you need is the dist.....i just "plugged and played" mine and then reset the timing

    had to message the front of the intake a little to get it in right

    Just going on my experiance, i took my DUI out, installed it, and set the timing according to the research i did on here...ran like a r***ed ape since day one

    A DUI is plug-n-play, all the recurving, etc. is done for you. Not with a run of the mill HEI though.

    I converted an EF Hei to odd fire. I pulled the dist. out of a 78ish Oldsmobile. New cap and rotor and then bolted it in. Runs great from my experience with no other recurving etc... I've never driven another HEI rig so maybe it could be better but it suits me just fine. ;)
