Guy is asking $400, thought it might be nice to have for behind both my jeeps, lookaing at how it is sitting I am going to assume the springs are shot.

Are they hard to find or do you convert to a newer style spring?

it has been converted to a ball hitch.

ad states Old Military 1/4 Ton Trailer, REGULAR BALL HITCH, hand brake, tailgate.

I am also assuming the tailgate is not standard.

Is the asking price fair you think or on the high side? I am hoping it doesn't sell before Christmas, I am hoping to get a bonus... R)

Springs might be OK once you get all that wieght out. Otherwise they're ECJ5 springs.

Price is probably fair if the floor and frame are in good shape.

Moreso if all the braking parts are there (I see the handle is).

Might be further ahead if you can find one of the surplus CDN M101 trailers found around the country. The worst one I've seen was in much better shape than the M416 shown in the pic. You'll also end up with a more heavy duty trailer.

but what is the pricing on them too? Watching my budget, I stumbled on this one, I don't' see them for sale very often, it's not often I see them period though.

I'd go back to talk to the seller, sniff around mumbling about the overflexed springs, admire the "beauty" of the hand made tailgate but muse that it's too bad the trailer isn't 100% original, and comment about the work involved to bring the trailer back to life. Then I'd offer $250 and see what happens.

Worst thing would be that the seller won't come down, but you might pick it up for a good price.

that, or with the price of scrap metal being what it is here, that's probably a good $15-$20 of metal... maybe more depending on how much is in there.
