Family Cage Ideas

    Thinking about a family cage in the '70. Need some help figuring it out. I'm wondering if the tub is short enough and if I used tube thick enough that I could keep it open like this:

    You will want a support in the middle i cna see that being a weak point.

    Your gonna want the 6 points. Look at the one I built on my page - It's about as minimal as I would go and have protection for all 4 seating locations.

    Make sure to have the top up when you plan the cage...the way the Supertop slopes the rear window you'll have a hard time keeping the roll cage bar over/behind the heads of the backseat passengers and still inside the softop.

    That was a frustration on Dutch - I couldn't build a rollcage that technically satisfied the rules at the dunes and keep it within the softop.

    So I got rid of the Jeep...R) R)

    You need some triangulation to make your cage stronger. It is best to have short sections and triangles. The design in your photo will matchbox easily in a rollover.
