Finaly find out the issue. Wiper motor is the problem. Easy fix, repair is done inside the gear box.

My original ‘72 switch only has three wires connecting to the circular portion. All the replacement ones seem to have four wires coming in. Wiper motor runs fine. Rebuilt the sliding mechanism and wipers work good going right to a battery but switch must be replaced. The selector shaft broke off long ago. Will the newer version with four wires on the circular part work for me?
