It seams like a good deal for what he is asking... What do you guys think? What should I look for when I check it out? Obviously I can't drive it due to the bad clutch but what else should I inspect? Any typical problem areas with this year? Is there anything that should be a major deal breaker?
    Thanks, jake

Looks to be in decent shape other than all the extra wires that are run allover the place.

The body and hard top are worth the asking price.

Of course the seller does not know the difference betwen an I-6 and a V-6.

Every YJ in California is a V4 or a V6...

I'd say go for it, even if you end up parting it out you will come out ahead.

I like my 88 yj. I paid $600 for used hardtop like yours.

Why can't you test drive it? Put it in 2nd or 3rd and start it. You may or may not be able to clutchless shift from there.

Still, it looks good and well worth $900. Looks like a Weber Carb which solves a huge headache with the early yj's.

Never mind, I guess there's more than one way to have clutch problems. I assume this one wont move with the clutch out & in gear.

I'm going back to sleep now.

900 doesn't sound bad if you can hear it run . problem area from what I have heard is the transmission . so with no test drive . you could still part it out or fix it

  9. Check for frame rust at the transmission belly pan and behind the rear shock mounts
