Next we are going to install a Edelbrock intake, 1406 carb, headers and exhaust along with an automatic if it ever gets here. Then behind that will be a Dana 300 and this DS.

Well the T-converter breather didn't work out. T-converter was hitting it even after reading the write ups on it.

But we got the motor and Trans in tonight and the cross member bolted right up. Thought we would have to drill new holes.

Here is the plug to close the hole in the shifters other port.

I put some RTV on the threads then tightened it up but not to much. Then sealed the outside w/RTV.

Operated the shifter and no problems.

Making some spacers for the tranny/cross member so the D300 won't hit the '74's crossmember.

    Old SkyJacker spacers.

Well the drivetrain is finished. :)

We had to cut the '74's tranny mount bracket so the Dana 300's yoke would not hit it.

Dana 300 installed and rear drive shaft ready.

For got to show the spacers we made and their location.

We were going to put a sleeve in the spacer where the bolt would go through the hole but we forgot. We used case hardened bolts and blue lock-tite.

Question-is the tranny stabilizer mount (left) supposed to be tight or left a little loose ?

    I can't remember.

    Thanks,

    nickmil In mothballs.

Snug. You don't want the drivetrain slapping back and forth but do need to allow some movement afforded by the insulator bushings.
