I have 71 with the 225. My transfer case has the bracket and the rubber mount on the frame rail, just like in the photos above in post #298, but not as pretty.

 

Getting ready to paint and my memory is gone what are these holes for on the passenger side floor. Any help would be appreciated.

Should be a matching set on the drivers side.

 

That side had the floor replaced badly. No holes

 

put some in there like the pass side and make you a metal flap. You need a drain if it sets out in the rain.

 

Or just drill a couple of holes without the flap.
The flatties had little slots in the panels just to the rear of where the floor board starts to angle up into the firewall. They didn't have any flaps.

 

I just bought a 1963 CJ5, original engine, Kelly Bonanza II top, and 1971 dealer installed hydraulics for a plow.

I'm mildly confused by the A/C / Heat set up. On the passenger side, below the stock oilfilled air cleaner, are hookups for a Kaiser & Frazer Air Conditioner, and on the driver side, i have what looks to be a newer model A/C / Heat unit, that connects to the radiator cowl.

Which one would i want to use, and where do i connect the bloody thing, neither are hooked up.

 

Oh we need pictures of this set up.

 

On the left of the image, below and between the dual horns (why gods, why?) and the oil filled air filter are the hookups for the Kaiser & Frazer, and obviously on the right, is the later model A/C / Heat. I had to do some creative cropping to show the engine bay and the K&F label, sorry. I also included the Hy-Lo Jeep pump...

Reply to post 311--on the driver's side, is a part of what an original heater set-up would be.

 

ok, then what is the Kaiser & Frazer? Was that ever offered as an option?

 

What does the unit under the dash look like? What do the controls look like? And are those Buick hub caps?

 

Mine barely puts out heat, now I find out it's an air conditioner. I don't see anything there that would indicate air conditioning but the sticker. Unless it includes an ice bucket. I myself would keep the original drivers side heater and scrap the other unless it was in good working order. Nice project. Did you get the plow setup?

 

I have the hydraulics, but no plow, and I plan on cutting them off the frame and mounted on a detachable unit for the front end.
I have a small under-the-dash mounted panel of a teardrop shaped selector knob, 3 buttons, and below those is a slider, its missing the labels, so i have no clue what button does what right now. No pics, sadly, just yet, I am having to creatively adjust and crop my 2.XXmb pictures to fit in the 1mb limit.
The Kaiser & Frazer unit on the passenger side looks to be a steel box, with manually operated doors on either side, and a grille on the bottom.
Yes, they are Buick hubcaps, on 15" rims, with 9.15/9.00/8.85-15 tires on the front.


The dash, firewall, and body have more holes in them than swiss cheese, right now.

 

The two tubes on the passenger side are the earlier type heater, such as pre-'57, I believe

It was mounted in the passenger footwell, and felt like an anaemic mouse breathing on your toes.

By "conditioned" I suspect they meant "warmed imperceptibly."
