Addressed a pesky leak on the Dana 300.
I used Permatex Aviation Form A Gasket on the bearing retainer and shims.

Mike, did you have to modify them at all?

I've heard great things about them. Thinking about a set myself.

Yes, but just to cut off the front part that would normally extend over the front fender on an AMC era Jeep. I cut them flush with the front of the tub. 10 minutes with an angle grinder and a cut off wheel, then some black spray paint (they come unpainted). Drill a few holes in the rocker panel and bolt them up. If you want to bolt the lower portion to the floor, you will need some spacers sized to where you want the bolts to come through. They have about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap between the floor braces and the bottom section of the rocker guard.

Took the hard top off the TJ for the 1st time! Now hoping for a nice spell of moderate weather before MO kicks in with the heat and humidity.

I switched over from the stubby air filter to a standard style intake and cone filter. The passenger side hood cutout makes a nice little cold air inlet. Then I washed and waxed her.

What did I do to my jeep today? I made my jeep work for me. I've been meaning to repack my trailer's hub bearings for a year. With the current stay-at-home situation and good weather, I was ready to tackle the job. However, before hooking up the trailer to the jeep -- the first time I've ever towed anything with this jeep -- I took the jeep on a drive around the yard.

Then I hooked up trailer to the jeep and pulled it up to the driveway to work on the hubs.

Cleaned up the garage and cleaned a ton of stuff off the 64 CJ. Had stuff piled on the frame since my dad died and mom was moved to a higher level of assisted living. Want to ask Bubba why he cut the drawbar supports to install a generic muffler.

I've had this 54" LED light bar for several years, I just couldn't agree on where it should go. I tried my KC Daylighters on the roof, but the reflection off the hood was blinding. I thought about it behind the bull bar but it interferes with the winch. So, after I put the receiver on the front bumper I decided this might work.

I won't leave it there all the time, I think I'll build a box to store it in and only put it on when Off road.

Got my grabby brakes fixed on the 2a thanks to Lockman for the new shoes and wheel cyls. Also added some shims to get more proper angle on the caster. Then pulled in the cj5 to fix the E brake. A little adjustment and brake cleaner to get some oil off the shoes and its working good again. The cable is very frayed at the handle end but ill run it till it snaps. Also found my rear axle is rusted through where the dirt sits in the hanger. I already welded up one side that was leaking years ago now iv done the front side. i couldnt weld it fully so i stuck in some jb weld hopefully it seals just has to hold the oil in.

    Not just today...

Dropped T15/D20 and rebuilt T15 (D20 was last year’s project). After trying to “press” bearings in with sockets and a BFH, I had to buy new clutch pawls and springs. Ended up buying a 12-ton press. Worked much better. Many thanks to others on the forum for guidance on both. While the assembly was out, I checked the clutch. Throwout bearing was trashed and clutch was very thin. New Luk parts on the way. I hope to have a positive update next weekend on how it all works.

I also bought the 12 ton press , when I changed my differential cases for LS & a front locker .
Sure made a difference here too.

Last week I attempted to seal a leak on my Dana 300 front output shaft bearing retainer. Even after the repair I was still experiencing some gear oil weeping from the bottom of the retainer plate. Novack Adapters has an upgrade to the original retainer plate made from billet aluminum that uses O-rings for sealing instead of sealer. I installed the Novack piece yesterday and so far no leaks.

    New retainer plated installed.

Back side of retainer plate uses O-rings for sealing and round shims as oppose to the original square shims.
Red grease to hold things together for the install.
