I made up a fan shroud today from stuff just laying around the shop. Left over Galvanized sheet that I had cut a new dash cover out of, and a piece of a road sign riveted and bolted to angle brackets.
Honest, I didn't run down the sign on purpose.

I just hugged my Jeep today. She doesn’t have a top and it’s turned to cold to ride.

After being laid up all summer, and after 2 months of trying to find the inside of my garage., ....... I finally found and cleared the spare work bench. So I can prep for my next project.

Got the front axle finished as far as paint/prep and now waiting for parts to come in. Got the rear axle torn down and prepped for primer/paint plus ordered parts for it. And moved the frame outside in preperation for stripping it, busting rust, welding a few cracks and cutting out and welding in the new battery tray.

Oh and more Script Fs found.

After 8 weeks in the shop, my 50 year old Whitco top is back from repairs and needs to go on. I started with a warm up by the wood stove.

I put the bows on in the garage, then moved it out to the only sun I could find.

I couldn't get all the snaps attached, but it's more or less on there. Ambient was about 45 degrees, about 30 degrees too cold from my experience. I might try a tent heater inside the cab tomorrow.

Not what I did to the Jeep, but what I did for the Jeep. Ordered the Holley Sniper BBD fuel injection kit today.

Update. Went out this morning with the tent heater and ran smack into Mr. Bear. In the end, it worked, and all snaps secured.

I got the 3 point front seat belts with shoulder straps mounted in the CJ5. Shoulder strap mounts to the roll bar.
Does anyone have any ideas about mounting 3 point shoulder straps in the back seat? Or do most people just use lap belts in the rear?

I used a set of Land Rover Jump seat that were side facing and folding in the back of my CJ5.
I stripped all the Rover folding bell and whistles off and cut some bracket out of an 6"x8" aluminum 1/4" wall square tube stock
Drilled holes so they bolt solid to the bottom and pivot on the top and then bolted them to the solid diamond plate rear welded in (tail gate).
I added seat belts, also from the Rover donor car.
I still don't see how I could get shoulder straps in the back.

Looks good. The only way you can do shoulder harnesses in the rear would be if you had a full roll cage that extended behind the heads of the rear passengers.

I did some fitting of the new rear crossmember.

Finally welded in PSide the corner.
Need to put in a bit of filler then start on the other side.
