Are there two different sizes on the Shifter?

I ordered two of them a while ago and when i went to install them they were too large for the bore. These are for the rear shifter rails. I tried to kind of seal it by putting a piece of sheetmetal behind the bores and seal it, but today when i was shifting my little fix popped out with teh quickness. So i need to find a smaller end cap to keep the oil in the tranny.

I installed caps on a tranny that had not been made for them- I had to bore out the ends of the rail holes to 5/8" for them to fit. I also filed some groves in the bores to relieve pressure when the rails move backward.

Nice touch Howard! I wouldn't have thought to cut the relief grooves to keep from hydraulicing the rail.
