aallison 74 cj6, 76 cj5. Has anyone seen my screwdriver?

I'm looking for a code reader. I want one that reads just about everything, engine, computer, ABS, etc.

I see a whole lot of price range differences. There is even one that connects to your cell phone.

I'd like something you plug in and read. I don't want to go look up a code on the internet, etc.

    I need it to read a 1996 dodge ram (I think it has a port), a 2003 Honda and a 2006 pacifica.

What do you guys use and what do you suggest?

1 - BAFX ELM327 Bluetooth OBDII CAN Scan Tool Android OBD Reader / Scanner. ($20-ish on Amazon).
    2 - Torque Android app. ($5)

It's cheap and easy to use plus fun to see what's happening in the "Dash/Gauge" mode.

I use it in my Ram on a daily basis.

Snapon ethos edge. Cheapest of their scan tools but i like it so far. Just got it wednesday and yesterday at work our witech system officially became a dinosaur. Hit the sundown poimt of no return and couldnt connect. Good news for us they finally ordered 4 new pods and will have the 2.0 system up and running monday hopefully.

Good news for me i could still clear codes, see data, and do a quicklearn on a trans replacement i did:)

    Did a little update/upgrade.

I inherited my Galaxy S4 back from my son. I decided to hard wire my Torque App/Phone gauge setup.

    Before (pic from above)

I took apart the mount, drilled a hole through the bottom and used a toilet tank screw.

I drilled through the cluster and bolted the mount.

Rewired a cig lighter charger to be wired directly into the fuse panel.

Much cleaner and in a way better spot.

If you want a cheap one I have had one of these for 3 years now and am happy with it for the price. Amazon.com: 100% Original Launch Creader CRP123 Professional Diagnostic Scanner Global Version for USA/Asain/Euro Cars: Automotive

If you want to do body systems and have bi-directional control look at the autel ds808 Amazon.com: Autel Maxidas DS808(Upgraded Version of DS708) Automotive Diagnostic Tool OBD2 Scanner with Key Coding and Multi-language System (Same Function as MS906): Automotive. I have a 708 and it does allmost everying, but it can be slow and is not intuitve.
