Quick question: I installed my OD this morning on my D18. The oil scoop seemed to scrape a little going into its place.. is it supposed to be that tight?

As long as it isn't contacting the bowl gear i wouldn't worry about it.

Tight is probably good. If that scoop comes out, the overdrive is toast.

OD onto the TC is tight. More like press fit. It is very important to measure the bull gear stick out. It must not stick out more that then measurement called out in the instructions. Found this out the hard way. Rebuilding and machining a new OD is not fun.

Novak's transmission adapter is not compatible with the Advanced Adapters OD. Had to machine .030" off one of the parts of the OD to get it to work. This may also happen on other transmission swaps.

measure very close. I used a .003 shim on both of mine. Thousands are critical!
