December 2023 - changed name of Thread . Thanks for looking.

Nothing special here. I'm learning as I go along. The jeep is a 66 and I'm a few years older than her. I've never had much Automotive experience. As I've driven a new truck since I've been able to afford to.

I've had this Jeep in my garage for nearly 10years. I just didn't think I was up to the task of making it safe. In the mean time I've stalked a little here and recently posted a few questions. I've collected a lot of new and used parts and now I'm ready to rock.

I'm definitely doing the following before I start driving her.....
1 Replace floor, riser, floor supports and patch a few rust holes. Done
    2 Power steering Done
3 Dana 30 swap w/ disc brakes Done
4 All new brake lines Done
5 New fuel tank and fuel lines. (under seat plastic)Done - Rear 15 gal fuel tank from 79 CJ
6 New seats Done- Roxor Seats
7 Straighten frame - driver side near pedals seems tweaked Done
8 Paint frame - Frame is mostly rust free (body is off so might as well) Done
9 New wheels (black) and tires (BFG AT) Done
10 New windshield frame and glass Done
11 AA chain clutch linkage Done
12 YJ springs front and rear. Done

Going to paint only as needed this time around with rattle cans. Edit Going DYI two stage paint
I'll try to keep y'all updated with lots of photos.

Sounds like a great plan. You have described my plans for the 67 I have. The AA chain linkage is done.

what's the advantage of the chain linkage?

It doesn’t bind up when you twist the Jeep. And it’s smoother

I love super simple things that work well and the AA chain clutch linkage seems like exactly that. It's easy to adjust and I feel like if I had to, I could fix it with a potato and plastic spork in the middle of nowhere somehow, it's super simple. But even with it my pedal still binds up, I had to make a bigger hole in the floor so the pedal wouldn't bind up on the floor. Works great now.

Here is where we are today. Took the floor supports off and started to get some of the floor loose. I have to free up the rear deck next as I think I'll replace the riser before I cut out any more flooring.

Getting the tool box out was not easy, but I am getting better at cutting and bashing spot welds.

We are taking the engine & transmission out this weekend.

Is there a boot that covers clutch fork on V6?

Yes, I bought an Omix one and it wore out from just being installed before I ever really put any miles on it. I would like to find a better quality one.

I want to weld this riser in so bad. But I’m waiting for approval of my buddy who knows a little about what I’m doing. [IMG]

We’re supposed to be putting it together but the frame is a little tweeked so out comes the drivetrain. Easy for a coat of paint too.

Used threaded rod to hold up center section and had to do a bit of hammering on firewall to get some wrinkles out. Real close to welding the first floor piece in.

What is my best next step for sealing these floor pans? I’ve seen epoxy filler and seam sealer used. What are the advantages of each? Is there other better options? (Besides perfect welds)
