After lots of work, the Cummins is finally in!!!!

It took a lot of sliding of the engine/transmission on the mounts to make it all fit properly. The engine and transmission mounts are all on slotted holes. I took my fancy valve cover off so it wont get damaged for the rest of the install.

Ambitious project! Should be pretty satisfying to get it all buttoned up and running down the road.

After everything is all hooked up, I still will not be able to drive it, because I need a custom tune to reprogram the 6.0 computer. And then, I have to drive it a few times and log the data and send that out to get another tune made.

Got the coolers all back in and started hooking up the radiator hoses and other lines. So far everything looks like it was meant to be there which is what I like. (y):bananatool:

Looks like the stock Cummins fan is in place?

Yes I opted to move the transmission back. I have to make a bracket for the driveshaft carrier bearing now and maybe tweak the transfer case shifter. Moving the crossmember back after the engine was bolted up would have really sucked. It didn’t take long and was pretty easy. Granted this truck has never seen salt, so everything comes apart nice.

Just a little update, I have been working on this pretty steady. Been doing all the tedious parts of the swap. It is pretty much ready to run, just waiting on the wiring harness which should be in this week.

And as promised, the video. On Saturday night at quarter after ten, I hopped in the truck to start it up for the first time and it started just like this in the video. I thought to myself something is wrong here because I was expecting to have to mess with it to get it running. :susp:

Just a few more upgrades done, powerstroke emblems removed from doors and Cummins ones added.

And I also got my other tailgate back from the body shop. This is the ‘08 - 16 style with the integrated step. These are highly sought after and it’s always wise to lock the tailgate to prevent it from being stolen!

And a full view of the truck if anyone wants to see how it looks. This truck came from the factory all black like this. I added the 05-07 Harley Davidson headlights because I like the look of them better. I also put the 08-16 tow mirrors on it because the mirrors are so much bigger than the 99-07 mirrors. Tomorrow I’ll be getting my aluminum wheels I’ve been after! :D
