I am stumbling through a saginaw swap and are to the point of replacing my driver's side manifold. I was able to get all the bolts out without breaking one, and would like to replace them with studs figuring I used up all my luck already. Are the studs engine specific, or do you just buy some with the same threads....I guess I am looking for some hints on a part number?

I've had good luck by using brass hi-nuts on studs for exhaust manifolds, This is a trick I've borrowed from some old British cars. The nuts always seem to come off without breaking anything.

Most parts stores will have a selection of threaded studs, Fastenal, McMaster- Carr, Grainger, Lowes, and Home Depot, you should have one nearby. I suggest a little anti seize on the threads before installation, the brass nuts are a good idea, also.
