I am digging this one. Wife thinks it is too expensive. If I found an LJ in Ca. and did all these upgrades to it I would be way over the cost. My biggest concern is will it pass Ca. smog.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

    A 4.0 is a 4.0. I think at this stage in it's life emissions wouldn't be a problem.
Don't think they would screw with you too much.

He said he removed the connection to the evap cannister? but it would be easy to hook back up.
There is a 2006 LJ a little north of me I am going to look at tomorrow morning. 94,000 miles, Rubicon, pretty much stock.

Looked at an LJ today. It was pretty rough and had been a bit abused. AC didn't blow cold at all, no interior floor carpet or mats, passenger seat belt didn't work plus some other things. It was a Rubicon. He was asking $14,995, I threw out $10,000 and he quickly said no.
    Still searching

Yeah, that's really low miles for a 20 year old Jeep. Pics look good too.

No not more expensive to insure, but you won't be able to finance it. My current DD truck is salvage title, I've owned it for 14 or so years.

not true. maybe, depending on where you live or who you go through for financing. 8 years ago i got a loan for my 2009 ford edge, and it has a "salvage" title. loan was for 10K from a private party.

True, private party or personal loan no problem, but I don't know of any institutions that will finance a vehicle loan on a salvage title, could be some tho.

I went thru a credit union. It was an auto loan on my behalf, paid to a private party, no problem.

Found one I really like but not sure about the body lift. It has everything I am looking for at a reasonable price for Ca. I have been having a heck of a time trying to go look at it. It is a 2 hr 45 min drive one way. I was going to go Sunday but my wife was sick with a fever and freaking out about it, covid test came back neg! My youngest is moving to Folsom and my wife is really having a hard time with that and I think making herself sick. I am moving her Thu and Fri and hope to go look at this one if it is still around Sun. It does have a D44 rear axle. It is simply amazing how many people have no idea what rear axle is under their TJ.
00 Jeep Wrangler4x4 6cyl lifted low miles (lots of addons) $13,000...

The red Rubicon looks really unmolested (except for the seat covers). It would be nice to have 44s and lockers in both ends to start with .
