I thought you would pull over...make a sandwich...take a nap...think about gas, but decide to work on the jigsaw puzzle...maybe grab a beer from the fridge...throw some gas in, and take another nap

I think it was either a baffle added or something with the filler inlet. My knowledge is second hand as my parents owned the RV when the recall was done. Google may tell you....

The roof turned into a cup of worms. I spent about a week picking bad spots of sealer out of corners and re-sealing. Today I gave the kids a half-day of school so I could get the roof coated. Before and after.

Be interested to see how well it ages - how often do you need to seal the roof? My wife and I think about getting a small tow behind camper some day - we still love tenting, but starting to thing of seasonal employment and spending a lot more time 'on the road' etc - but I think I would really want to be able to store it inside, or at least under some sort of hard roof to protect it; especially the roof from UV and hail etc....I don't look forward to the maintenance on one....

Nice job on the roof sealer. It looks like the a/c radiator is blocked from the front airflow. Why isn't it directly in the air stream? It seems like it would really exchange heat if it was.

You don't generally run roof air while driving. And it would only be possible if you had a generator to power it with. I've heard of people doing that during really hot weather to cool off the rest of the rig, but usually while driving you just run the dash A/C.

I think I’m going to add a lean-to onto the shop this fall. Then I can get the 3b out of the weather too. Snow load is a death sentence for RVs around here. It’s either that, or pay a small fortune to have it stored indoors at one of the 14 million boat/RV storage lots around here.

I was usually able to find reasonable seasonal storage in Michigan. Check with fairgrounds, farmers, etc.

Yea, those places. Always tough to schedule. Dude with the bass boat behind you wants out so you have to get over there before you were even ready to think about it for the season.

Alluminum roof? Ours is bare aluminum with all joints / screws sealed over. Like you said, you need to clean off and reseal those places occasionally, but it can last many years, even decades. You definitely want to do it as preventative maintenance before you end up with a leak and water damage.

Ours sits outside all summer and we pay for indoor winter storage. If you can find a way to have covered storage year round, more power to ya!

Yes, aluminum roof. It was re-sealed once before with an acrylic sealer, then spot-sealed over that with cheap junk, and they just glopped it over all the vent cover brackets. I removed all of that stuff before starting. The stuff I got is silicone-based with a lifetime warranty, and it wasn’t cheap. It should outlast our ownership, then it’s someone else’s problem. :)

I guess the “pull the little Jeep on a trailer” idea is already in the past.

I rode this turd home in the pouring rain last night.

maybe if you got rid of one of those trailers in the background, you could justify adding a jeep trailer - the one on the left would make a pretty sweet raft trailer, and I know someone that lives in my house and has a raft and is need of a trailer....

I was ready to hit “buy now” on a 7k axle with brakes for that bigger trailer and a brake controller as soon as I got the ok. :(

    Oh well.
