If you have the WARN built Black Diamonds you will be hard pressed to find better off the shelf. It may be cheaper to have a spring shop rework them. There are other options including semi custom packages and YJ conversions.

I'm not aware of any flatfender springs over 2.5-3" if you want more than that a soa on later wider leaves would be advisable.

Actually Atlas spring in Southern Calif. custommakes them up to 4 inch lift.

4” seems like a lot of arch for your 36” long front spring. Can’t imagine it would articulate very well. Weren’t you considering a Holbrook long leaf conversion? Now that suspension will move....not a bolt on deal though obviously.

I would consider Atlas semi custom. If I was going SUA and wanted 4" I would go Atlas with rear springs at all 4 corners.

My favorite leafs springs are from Alcan Spring in Colorado. Including myself I know many folks with their springs and no one ever has a complaint. Technically they are "custom" every time but if you actually have the weight of your specific vehicle they can tailor the spring design to make it what you want instead of something generic and off the shelf. Alcans are not cheap but worth it. The ones on my Nissan are 17 years old now; I sent them back once a few years ago for a refresh with new bushings, pads, and paint and they still work like new.

Holbrook no longer sells them and you cant get a complete kit anymore like that.

Anybody else use Alcan springs, are they worth the price?

That’s too bad. It was an interesting and unique option...asymmetrical leaves. I remember hearing the company that took over Holbrook had dropped it but then started again. I guess not.

y2grey has a good suggestion using the 41” flatty rears front and rear. YJ, late model CJ front and rears, and early CJ rears are all around 44” long and would likely require frame lengthening on a 3b. Alcan has great reputation....of course then you can go full custom.

I put rears on the front of my 3A and what a difference.

Used Alcan on a couple projects over the years - as said - expensive, but worth it IMOP. A buddie still has them on his Commando after @ 15 years and has had no issues with them and last spring when I saw the rig they looked fine.

I really like the brackets you made to locate the springs! I did mine the old fashioned way... shackle hanger to the front of the frame horn and spring hanger right behind the original. All lined up just about like yours.

Not true. Still available through Gary Holbrook direct as of a month ago. Richard Imholt of R&P was a dealer but no longer is as of a couple months ago.

  15. I recently put a set of NOS M38 rear springs on the front of my 3A using the factory rear mounts and custom shackle hangers which stick out a bit. It ends up giving them a decent shackle angle which helped smooth out the ride a tad. It still rids like a wagon though.

Are youth Black Diamonds the Warn built version? They will be military wrapped and the springs would be bent with a flat center surface rather than arched?

Yes they are military wrapped and flat center made by Warn.
