I remember those ads in the back of Popular Science when I was a kid.

My Uncle Bud was in WWII in the European Theater. When he got home shortly after the war was over, he bought a surplus jeep from Hill Air Force Base (or whatever it was called at the time) in Ogden, UT and drove it back to Provo where he lived. He would often loan the jeep to his nephews and cousins. Here's a picture of my dad driving the jeep with his little brother in back.

The picture was taken right here. The dirt two-track is now paved and most of the rocks have been removed from the open area. My uncle drove that jeep until he passed away at an old age. My dad took my brother and I in the jeep when we were teenagers on the steep rocky trails at the base of Y Mountain. Thinking back on that experience, my dad worked all the shifters from muscle memory, having not driven it in at least 20 years. The jeep was handed down to relatives, unfortunately not my side of the family. The jeep still exists, but any attempts to get any information about it go unanswered.

I hate Roxor, call me nuts. I know alot of people around here like them, but I'm not one of them.

I am scrapping out a M38a that the body is toast, but the frame and running gear is good, if you are interested.

Search utube for "pigpen" on the gone gpn with Rick Pewe. For an example of the roxor jeep mix.

    I posted it here also
