Might try sending a PM to Daryl and check with him. He may still be selling parts.

From what I have read an amc 20 is actually as strong if not stronger than a 44 as long as the tubes are welded to the pumpkin and good quality one piece axles are used. Could prove to be more cost-effective in the end.

I I agree and I have defended the model 20 when most people say throw it in the trash but this is my 3rd set of bearings on 3 different mosher axles, bearings from mosher and they have failed. I am done with Chinese cheap parts even if the box says Timken . I'm gonna try the Dana 44 to see if I can drive more than 3000 miles without a failure

Well let us know if you have any more problems. I have a '73 centered D44 for my 3B project. Thought this was the best option after the negative things I've heard about the AMC20. I do also have the AMC20 but wasn't planning to use it.

Your right, and he does, but my wife was supposed to go and visit her sister in Modesto, but the white Suburban we bought now has tranny problems. So it is in the shop in Fontana I may not be able to get up there to get it.

And the rain just keeps on pouring!

I am in the last 9 hrs of 2300 mile round trip to Daryl's place. But am returning with a Dana 44 rear axle

So, I have my Dana 44 installed, and in the parts box I have 3.54 gear set. But now I need to address the parking brake. The 78 runs the cables to the driver side so 1 cable is short the other is long. And I can't use the cables of the AMC axle as the backing plate attachment is different. The pass side cable is long enough that it might work, but I don't know how to shorten the driver side.
    Has anyone else done this???

I didn’t shorten the cable. I just looped it under the jeep just ahead of the axle.
