Warn Hub Bushing Or Bearing

The bearing in the warn hub where the splined gear rides in the hub housing is wasted in both of my locking hubs. The part is nla. any one found a suitable replacement short of a new hub? warn is mighty proud of their stuff.

 

Shouldnt that be Warn's problem? Do they have lifetime warranty?

 

The part is no longer available as a service part.

 

Have you tried a bearing distributor rather than Warn? At work we use BDI and they've rarely been unable to find us a bearing we need, and we have some pretty old machines in the plant. If you have the numbers from the ends of the cage they'll likely be able to cross it with something. Let them know the depth of bearing is somewhat "negotiable" and could be a bit shorter, which may help if exact match isnt available. Counter guys in Clarksville, TN know their stuff.

If Warn cant get the parts it seems like they should offer a new hub.

The Bearing in the picture looks like A thin shell Torrington needle bearing.

should be able to get those at A bearing house.

 

They have been discontinued and are no longer being manufactured.
This has been discussed before.
Best bet is to find another hub.

 

thanks for the replies, I 3d printed some and am going to try them out. i also ordered a pair of the bearings from tourque king to try.

 

the printed bushing seems fine after a lengthy road test will see if it holds up.

I measured a Kaydon KH-243006 bearing from a junk M54 hub.
It measures 1.5" ID X 1.875" OD X 0.50" deep.
Google search shows Timken B-248 (B248) and INA SCE248 with these dimensions.
They are called drawn cup needle bearings, and also known as "Torrington" needle bearings.

I make no guarantee that these numbers are the exact replacement bearing, but sizing appears right.

 

Yup those are the ones I ordered I’ll post results when they get here.

 

the bearings from tourque king are a bust....they are the same size as spindle bearings on a 30 so they wont go to wste.
