Dauntless Distributor Help?

Good morning everyone!
So, last weekend I got her running, but had oil pump issues. Corrected that, but now she won’t fire. Hopefully I’ll get some help this afternoon to ensure spark but in the meantime, where does this stray wire in my distributor go?

 

Looks like the ground for the movable breaker plate assembly. Likely goes to the screw that is below it in the picture.

 

That’s what I thought. When I found it, it was just a stripped wire, must have been just making contact before.

One wire from the coil to the points (hot with key on)
One wire from the condenser to the points.
One wire from the casing to the breaker plate (ground)

Inspect/clean the point contacts and reset the gap/dwell (might want to put a dab of grease on the contact arm rubbing block).
Remember to always check the vacuum advance while you are in there.
Recheck/adjust the timing.

Be aware, it is important the it be very flexible so it doesn't impede the plate movement during advance/retard. Yours may be too short/stiff, especially in cold weather.
