I am reassembling a Warn Overdrive after cleaning it and replacing some bearings. In case it matters it is an older Warn front shift unit with roll pins on the tapered nose washer.

I ordered a set of gaskets and seals from AA and there are two "O" ring seals in the kit, one is about 5/8" and that goes in the bore for the shift rail, but the other is about 1 3/8" and I do not have a clue where it goes as nothing in the unit had such a seal when I disassembled it.

Anyone know where this larger "O" ring would be used?

I could be missing something, but I don't see that larger o-ring in my Warn OD Parts/installation and operation brochure (Catalog 4551).

By law, every job should have at least one extra part upon reassembly. They just supply that part to fulfill that law.

How different is the Saturn O/D? Could the kit be a single rebuild kit that fits both Warn and Saturn with the addition of an O ring?
