Anyone know of a traditional-style/sized steering wheel that fits the 3/4” steering column? My jeep has a mid sixties Buick column, and all that I managed to find so far are modern wheels, or larger wood wheels over $250, which doesn’t make sense to me in a Jeep that’s often exposed.

Just buy this 4405 adapter and you can choose from just about any steering wheel on the market.

Thanks- except for the 1” original style wheel - I think. Unless I’m missing something- I’ll google this.

You lost me at 1" original style wheel? That adapter can use any 3 bolt or 6 bolt steering wheel.

Correct- and this is pretty much the set up that I have now, but my GT wheel is in terrible shape.
y preference is to go to an OG styled wheel that mounts to a 1” splined shaft. My column has a 3/4” splined shaft- so while I can use that adapter for a modern wheel- I’ve only found smaller diameter wheels, (13-15”) unless I go up to the more expensive wood trimmed wheels, which I don’t want to do.

I’ve ordered a newer replacement type that sits at 15.6” diameter and will mount to the 6 bolt adapter.

the image below is the type I’m ideally looking for…

Oh, now I understand. I thought you were looking to go with a modern wheel on the stock column. My bad . I don't have anything useful to add here, carry on.

I might have something that you can use, maybe, I have a Grant steering wheel for garage art, if you can't find anything I will help you out with what I have. I just looked, I found the cover that goes under the wheel to cover the column, and the horn adapter kit, I think the spline adapter is on the wheel that is hanging on the wall above the doors. See what you can find first, if no luck I will give mine up. Try Googling Grant Steering Wheels. Rick

Check the tractor parts supply places, they may have something that fits & has the general Bus Wheel appearance.

I got my replacement off eBay years ago. The only real difference is the horn cap from the original. Direct fit onto factory spline.

I think that is the problem....the OP doesn't have the original factory splines due to a column swap, but wants a sort of factory looking, large diameter 'bus' wheel.

Kind of on the same subject (kind of a Hijack) - Is there a Lookalike to the original wheel that is smaller - adaptor or original spline?

the tractor suggestion was the ticket- I’ve found a few different options with the 3/4 spline.

If I understand correctly you have a Buick steering column in your Jeep, is that right? You are looking for a steering wheel that will fit the Buick steering column that looks like the original Jeep wheel, right?

One of the John Deere ones?

The only downside is you'll have to paint your jeep yellow & green :)

Yes- I’m looking for an bus-styled wheel, that would fit a steering column with a 3/4” spindle.

the original steering column has a 1” spindle, so reproduction wheel are out of the question.
Newer wheels are leather bound, or wood, but mostly around 15” or smaller rather than the original 17”. As I mentioned, I can find larger wheels @ 16.5, but they’re a higher end, more expensive wood wrapped wheel, which is not what I’m looking for.

I had searched for an adapter, but no luck. So, I’ve opted for a 17” diameter tractor wheel that will fit a 3/4” diameter spindle. We shall see how it works out once it arrives.

I'd like to see a pic of that wheel installed on the Jeep.
