Well i posted a WTB ad in the classifieds with no results.
I'm looking for the metal piece that goes between the transfer case and the frame mount on a v6 jeep. Can someone post pics and dimensions so I can try to build one?

Just to clarify, you are looking for the 'z' bar that goes to the inside of the passenger frame rail and used what looks like a 4cyl motor mounts? Fireball has some good pics of the set up in one of his jeep threads....of course he's got three build threads to search through:rolleyes:..

    Yes.
I've been using the round 4 cylinder type mount but I thought it might be easier to use the v6 frame mount when I build/modify/cobble together a crossmember for the T18.

Since everyone is already referencing my pictures, I suppose I should chime in too. :D

Dimensions are 1 5/8" wide by 1/4" thick bar stock.

Here's some shots I took this morning:

Note the factory ones are angled slightly forward with the bend at an angle across the bar stock. See picture from below:

Not sure why they did that but probably to clear the rivets for the body mount. It's probably not needed for a custom fabbed bracket with the transfer case in a non-stock location.

Perfect! Just what I needed to see.
I SHOULD have one of those, my Jeep had that style of mount stock, but when my dad stole the trans for his Jeep & the transfer case sat in his garage for 20+ years, it seems to have disappeared.

I built mine. It's all 3/16 thick. Basically used a piece of 2" angle bolted to the 4 cyl motor mount long enough to line up with a piece of flat bolted to the transfer case. Spotted it there, removed it and welded it together.

I just modified the cross member and put a round motor mount puck in my T18 setups.
