Warn Overdrive Gaskets/leaks

My Warn Overdrive has sprung a few leaks (especially between the bearing cap and main housing) that I’d like to try to get plugged up. This was a refurbished overdrive that I got from Herm around 2005 or so. Are there any special gaskets required or recommended? Is it recommended to install the gaskets dry or with RTV?

I would try a thin gasket made from generic gasket material before you do RTV

It looks like the left bolt might be loose. You could try tightening everything up first to see if that stops the leaking.

I would never ever use RTV.

Thanks guys. I’ll probably get one of those kits. I’ll check the bolts first.

I'm with Fireball. I'd pull that bolt, clean the threads and qtip out the hole with some acetone. I apply a small amount of rtv to the threads run it down and torque. I wouldnt pull the housing just yet.

Those are Dowty washers. I use them to keep my British cars from leaving oil spots on the floor.
