windows....

    ok, now that the Heep is on the road again, I have a dilema. The windows on my doors are opaque. They have turned sort of a whitish color. Is there any way to safely clean and polish them up some so I can actually see out of the Heep instead of having to zip the windows down? I'll try to post some pics tonight when I get home to let you see what I'm talking about. Most of the time I won't even care because the windows will already be sipped down or the doors will just be off, but would be nice to be able to use the top when it is cold or raining. Thanks.

    If you take the doors to an upholstry (spelling?) shop you can have the old windows removed and new windows stitched in.

    Seems like places such as Four Wheel Drive Hardware sell a kit to restore windows....

    Yep there's a two-step product called Novus plastic polish or something to that effect. Check www.4wd.com or similar outfits.
    It has worked well on my windows, but they hadn't yet gotten opaque.
    It might be worth a shot... or as suggested, have new windows installed.

    Well, not long after I posted this, a guy here at work offered me a whole new top. He hasn't given me a price yet, but if it's reasonable, I'll just snag it and be done with the worn out top that is already on my Heep. If not, I'll check out the upholstery shop. There is one not too far from my house.

    I've had pretty good luck with a bottle of liquid car wax and a hair dryer. Wax the windows then heat them with the hair dryer, then wipe off. Then Re-heat them. As always, I would try it with a small area first.
