Tall, Skinny tire recommendations

amen boyink , My full size trucks I always carried spare axels and joints but never used one because it broke. I only ever had to replace one axel and that was do to my lazness . I didnt change the rearend oil in my half ton chevy after a day mud riding in waste deep water. Needless to say watered down 90 weight gear oil doesnt have proper lub properties lol.Needless to say the bearing came apart and ate the axel about a week after the ride lol

 

Cool looking Jeep, Billy! Interesting that your Swamper and stock 16x6 rim combo weighs only 55 lbs - about the same as the stock tire/rim combo? Also good to know it's on your stock front D25, which is what my CJ2A has.

Y'all make some good points about driver abuse being one of, if not the main, reason for axle breakage. I hadn't taken that factor into consideration until you guys mentioned it. Whatever tire I choose to go with, I'll just have to take it easy and not go crazy on the trails.

 

Swamper weighs 55 lbs. With stock rim prob around 65-70?
