  3. Can you give more detail on the side mounted tire? Assembly/parts used to make that happen?

You basically need one of these...

Spare Tire Carrier Generic CJ Models 1945-1971

There should be four threaded mounting holes in your tub where it mounts. There is also the elusive "mushroom bolt" that helps stabilize the tire, you can read about that a little further back in John's thread.

Started some work on the original grill.. now I remember when this happened. My father was pulling out my brothers stuck van sooo he asked me to hook the chain on something solid lol needless to say he wasn't amused. I find it ironic I'm working on this 38 yrs later to fix it.

I’m sure somebody on here has a frame that is rusted out on the left side.

So this is what I'm dealing with

This is the donor pc I got here

After stripping off all the real bad spots on the donor pc this is what I'm left with

I think I need to re evaluate this. I would have to fabricate most of it. Any thoughts ?

The rectangle upright piece looks better on the donor. We’ve all watched how well you do with sheet metal.

It just that the head is wider than a standard carriage bolt...
