You should put a decal on the jeep "Piss Fir Willys" That's what we called the Forest Service back in the ol day's.

Thats where the temp gauge is. This is the sensor to turn the fans on and off.

One more high performance mod for Ted.

I haven't driven it yet, but it seems to rev much higher when the second barrel kicks in.

One more picture of the cleaned up engine bay. I bought a reproduction air crossover tube and cut the tube off so the spark plug wires could still go through the loom. Waiting on my new choke and throttle cables still. And of course, the Flathead power sticker added to the air cleaner gives an extra 20 horse. :D

New carb is awesome!!! The hill on my road I can now climb in second gear overdrive. Before, I could only climb it in straight second. But when I got to the top, I opened the hood and the manifold was glowing slightly. Might need to upgrade the exhaust now.

I also made some bolt on brackets so I could put rear springs in the front. What a difference!

I've read a lot about the YJ springs. Did you use the rear YJ springs on both front and rear? My CJ2a truck conversion could use a better ride that the old narrow spring offers. your bracket idea is pretty creative...

No they’re lifted rear springs for a flat fender all the way around. Yj springs would be too long. I will say it rides much better with the longer springs in the front.

I broke down and bought a Clifford performance header. I noticed Ted runs better now, even with no exhaust. I'll be getting a 2" exhaust done tomorrow.

I cannot believe the difference that the header and 2" exhaust made.I noticed a little more power and better throttle response. Ted runs much smoother now too. I used a Flowmaster HP-2 muffler.

I decided to do a 4 wheel disc brake conversion. I had most of the parts for the front kicking around. I bought Metcalf's rear disc brake. I started on the fronts tonight.

definitely pics needed! I have his Trackkick brackets that I've yet to put on my dana 44, but they aren't compatible with the 70-74 axle. I'm using an earlier axle right now, but would eventually like to swap in my flanged axle, and I'd sure like the brakes to be compatible.
