Yoke Puller Reccomdation

    rear yoke pulling issues, Got a puller on it now with tension and heat. Still a no go. Maybe it will pop tonight. Can anyone recommend a quality puller? Maybe pic too? Thanks in advance!! Paul

    I am assuming you are asking about the pinion yoke? They can be really stuck. I actually had to wrestle the housing into the press on one years ago. I have a bar puller that is threaded that works with bolts that go through the holes for the u-joint u bolts.

    Yes your correct, the pinion yoke. This is the worst one I have had to get off. I broke the jaw puller I had. Just thought someone might have a quality tool or process In mind.

    If the nut was loose for a long time, the yoke can work on the splines causing a ridge making it difficult to remove. Other wise, I've never had much difficulty removing the yoke.

    Had one we built a 'hub' on bolted to the yoke. Took lots of torque, broke a smaller puller and finally got it off with the same one we used for the HUB on the rear axle. As said before, it had a ridge on it. End up pulling whole gear set so we could clean the pinion up and put it back in with a new yoke.

    If it's that hard - be sure to check the spines and such.

    Thanks, this is the hardest one I have ever had to deal with. I have had a puller on it for two days with heat and various penetrating liquids
    Still a no go.

    Thanks Warloch!
    Dropped the entire axle assembly. Took the puller off and soaked it again with "Deep Creep" and took a dead blow and worked the yoke both directions. Put the puller back on came off easy. No spline damage just minimal rust in the splines. I think I am in for the same on the front. Thanks to all !
